About Me

Hi, I'm Shaefer. Welcome to my data science portfolio! Since 2017, I have used data science to explore my interest in many different fields, including finance, politics, cybersecurity, retail, sports analytics, and even craft beer. I also developed a passion for cybersecurity at a young age, beginning with competing and placing on the state and regional levels for CyberPatriot in high school. These interests intersected early in my career and led me to my current role as a cybersecurity data scientist at CrowdStrike, where I use machine learning to strengthen the cyber defense of our customers. While I have a wide breadth of experience in cybersecurity data science, I am particularly interested in AI interpretability and explainability. When I'm not crunching numbers, I'm likely indulging in one of my many random hobbies, ranging from Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to backpacking.
